Bill began his career at Cooley Godward in Palo Alto, California in the late 1990s where he represented a wide variety of tech companies including several Fortune 100 companies and venture-backed private entities. He then moved to Portland and joined Stoel Rives where for several years he continued to assist clients of all sizes in a variety of corporate, commercial, licensing, financing, M&A and other business-related matters. He founded alto law group in February 2006 to provide responsive, high-quality and cost effective legal services to companies at every stage of growth – a resource that he perceived to be unavailable in the Pacific Northwest.

Josh focuses his practice on the representation and counseling of emerging and established companies on a wide variety of intellectual property, corporate and transactional matters. He counsels clients on venture capital and angel financings, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances and joint ventures, technology licensing, commercial agreements and general business matters. Prior to joining alto law group in early 2007, Josh practiced at Stoel Rives in Portland. Prior to attending law school, Josh was a pilot for United Airlines and the United States Air Force. He continues to serve in the Air Force Reserve.
