Bill's career began at Cooley Godward in Palo Alto, California in the late 1990s where he represented a wide variety of tech companies including several Fortune 100 companies and venture-backed private entities.

He then moved to Portland and joined Stoel Rives where for several years he continued to assist clients of all sizes in a variety of corporate, commercial, licensing, financing, M&A and other business-related matters.

In 2006 Bill founded alto law group to provide responsive, high-quality and cost effective legal services to companies at every stage of their life cycle.

Bill was named one of Portland's top 40 business leaders under age 40 in 2009 by Portland Business Journal.
